Dreams
Have you ever had those memories where you're not sure whether they really happened or were just a dream? I have those a lot. Probably because my life has been so.....weird.
I'm a normal person, I've been working since I was 15, graduated high school, trying to go to college, (f*cking tuition is so f*cking high, and I didn't get the scholarship application filled out in time for the summer fall or spring semesters, 05/06, they were due on March 1st. WTF?!?!?), anyway, I would say I'm good looking, and "normal". But, I've been homeschooled for most of my life, I was born on the east coast on a military base in Virginia, my father divorced my mother when I wasn't even a year or so old. I've lived in Texas, Washington, several different places in California, one of them being a trailer park, and Missouri, in the Ozarks. So while you could call me an Oakey, you could also call me trailer trash, and "snob" or "preppy" as they like to say in high school. Quite a history I have there wouldn't you say?
Anyway, I have this one memory of being at a drive in. One of the old ones that had a play ground at the very front, and the snack shack at the back. I remember two things very well about that place and time. The first is, the song. "Hit the Road Jack". Seriously, I don't think I will ever forget that. And the other was cashews on a ham and pineapple pizza. Its good, don't knock it till you've tried it. But then, I haven't had it pretty much since then, and I don't even remember how old I was then, so....but still, it was good. Its strange the things you remember huh? Its almost as if you can remember things better from when you were a kid, than stuff that happened last week. Down to the details sometimes....I wonder why.
The reason why I brought that up is because I'm eating nuts, and there are cashews in there with them. I was thinking about getting a ham and pineapple pizza, and taking all the cashews out of the nuts, popping them on my pizza, backing it, and then eating it. Sounds like fun. I'm excited about all this, I really am.
Oh, my spins-around-dress. When I was little and living in San Bernadino, I had this purplish dress. I would put it on and do spins and watch it swirl up around me. Every dress after that one I would spin in, and if it didn't have a good float swirl, it wasn't a good dress. I remember that for punishment, my parents would take that dress away from me. :) I don't know whatever happened to it, but I like thinking about it.
Have you ever had something happen, or saw something, and later when you think about it, its all weird? Okay, like this one time, I accidentally say my step dad naked, when I was real little, and I cannot remember anything. Seriously, I don't want to either, but I'm just sayin, I can't remember. Must've been pretty traumatizing for my little girl mind.
About the same time I had a cabbage patch doll, (which I still have by the way), with red hair, she came with curlers and two outfits. She had the most beautiful hair, and it was long and silky. Well, she had a bath, (washer machine), and then she had to dry, of course, but my dad put her in the dryer.........and melted her hair. She now has a fro. I combed it out, but it is seriously, some nappy hair. Crazy. But I'm planning on keeping her forever and ever. I've had her for a long time. Her name is Mary Beth. I'm not sure who named her, my mom or myself, but thats her name. And I like it.
I have a lot of memories, but I'm sure right about now I've lost your attention by prattling on, so I will leave you with this thought........
Yours truly,
The Lady Rosemary
